2011 Riverstone Masters Module & Club Lounge Official Opening
26/03/2011
Last weekend was the last of our trial games being played & in addition our club hosted a Masters Of Rugby League Tournament.
The weekend started with the welcoming & presentations of players bags & playing apparel made by the President “Mark Stacey” & the Secretary “Yours Truly” to our under 6’s. These little ones are the future of our club & we hope we can see them develop over many years to come.
We saw some terrific football at all levels throughout the morning & we are guaranteed we will see some excellent results by all our junior teams throughout the year.
The official opening of the Club Lounge also occurred with the honourable Mr. Alan Pembelton the mayor of Blacktown unveiling the plaque. We were also presented our merchandise & endorsement by Andrew Prentice from Good Sports at this official ceremony. Many past players from many years ago attended the ceremony along with Yvonne Purtell & Bill Demanual from Penrith Districts Junior Rugby League.
The first of 18 games of Masters commenced at 12.30pm with games running right through to 9.30pm. The good old boys from Rivo were victorious again winning 6 nil against Merrylands. There was some excellent football played by all the old fellows competing on the day.
Overall it was a great weekend for our club & I wish to thank all those who volunteered their services to assist make this weekend a success.
